Ali İnci: The Evolving Face of the 28th February Mindset

The 15th of July National Will Association, under the leadership of President Ali İnci, organized a conference at Sakarya University (SAU) on the topic of “28th February.” The Deputy President of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, attended as a speaker at the event. During the program, teachers who were victimized during the postmodern coup of 28th February were thanked, and gifts were presented to them in recognition of their patience and perseverance.

Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş Speaks at the Conference
The main speech at the conference was delivered by YÖK Deputy President Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, who provided striking evaluations on the effects of the 28th February process on the education system and academia. Göktaş emphasized the importance of not forgetting the grievances experienced by students and academics who were disconnected from their education and professions during that period, stating, “28th February was not just a military intervention but also a blow to Turkey’s education system. Many academics, teachers, and students suffered great injustices during that time. This process not only affected individuals but also the future of our country.”

Göktaş noted that Turkey now has a stronger and more resilient structure against such antidemocratic interventions, emphasizing the need for a liberal approach in the education system.

High-Level Participation in the Protocol
The conference saw the attendance of Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan, Sakarya Member of Parliament Ertuğrul Kocacık, SAU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamza Al, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık, AK Party Sakarya Provincial Chairman Yunus Tever, youth and women’s branch presidents, district mayors, district chairmen, and esteemed protocol members.

Ali İnci: “The 28th February Mindset Has Not Died, It Has Just Changed Its Appearance”
In his address following the conference, President of the 15th of July National Will Association and AK Party Sakarya Member of Parliament, Ali İnci, emphasized that the effects of the 28th February process continue to this day. He stated that different methods are being used to obstruct Turkey’s progress, saying, “Those who seized the people’s will with tanks that day are now trying to hinder Turkey’s progress with the economy, perception operations, and judicial traps. But no matter what they do, the Old Turkey is no more! There is now a nation marching towards the Century of Turkey!”

Noting that they have not forgotten the days when students wearing headscarves had their education rights taken away and attempts were made to shackle the people’s will, Ali İnci stated that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has entered a new era.

“A Turkey That Makes Others Kneel, Not One That Kneels”
Ali İnci highlighted that Turkey has become a country that asserts its own power to the world, making significant strides in the defense industry. He stated, “A Turkey that lends to the IMF instead of borrowing, a country that gives hope to the oppressed and defends justice.”

Ali İnci concluded by emphasizing that Turkey is rising in every aspect, and this upward trajectory cannot be stopped. He stated, “No matter what you do, you cannot stop President Erdoğan, the man of the people! You cannot make this nation kneel!”

The conference came to a close amidst the enthusiastic participation and applause from the attendees.
